Day 1: Kigali city tour, transfer to Volcanoes National Park

Pick up at the hotel in Kigali by one of our company representatives, after, set off for 2 hours of city tour in Kigali. With your Rwanda safari guide, visit Kigali genocide center to have a deep understanding of the 1994 Rwanda genocide.

The Kigali/Gisozi memorial site was officially recognized as the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Expect an educative historic tour in Kigali memorial.

Other places that you will also pay a visit with the city expert include the biggest city mark – Kirimonko market. It will be in Kirimonko market where you will find variety of fresh fruits to purchase, and craft shops. After a short city excursion, proceed to the hotel for lunch.

Leave Kigali after lunch for Volcanoes National Park, Northwestern Rwanda 2-3 hours’ drive from Kigali. The road trip will involve navigating via the lush route with undulating hills.

Enjoy the scenic drive, 2-3 hours in a 4×4 vehicle and bottled water will be provided to quench down the thirst. When you get Volcanoes National Park, check in your Rwanda gorilla safari lodge for you to relax, dine and spend a night.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking Rwanda Safari in Volcanoes Park, Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village Tour

After breakfast early, meet your Rwanda safari guide for transfer to briefing point – Kinigi. Get to know the rules for gorilla trekking and gorilla family to track in your group of 8 visitors.

At around 8:00am (local time), you and trained park guide will set off to search for mountain gorillas. This is likely to take 2-6 hours and it covers one hour of magical encounter, photography, etc.

The search for mountain gorillas involves complete immersion into the jungles, with your journey completely unpredictable.

You may bump into undulating hillside of the park, the bamboo forest, rainforest, wetland/swamp vegetation and more.

In the evening, perfectly end the day with a visit the Iby’Iwacu village to interact, explore and enjoy great entertainment from Rwandese.

At Iby’Iwacu Village, expect to have a close interaction with the former poachers, enjoy the unique cultural and traditional dances, explore the distinct traditions as well as cultures, lifestyles, and more. This session is largely available for you closely interact with Rwandese themselves.

After the Iby’Iwacu Village, have the rest of the evening relaxed at the gorilla safari lodge in Volcanoes National Park in Ruhengeri.

After shopping and perhaps lunch break, get dropped off at Kigali International Airport (KGL).
