Day 1: Arrival into the Pearl of Africa (Uganda) –

Upon arrival, get a warm welcome from our company representative & transfer to the hotel in Entebbe. In the evening, enjoy dinner with our team and get briefed about this exceptional 20 days East Africa safari.

Day 2: Murchison Falls National Park for a wildlife tour & Rhino trek
After taking a delicious breakfast, set off for Murchison Falls National Park, Northwestern Uganda. Getting to this park takes a 6-7 hour drive along the Kampala-Gulu highway. En route, branch off to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary to track rhinos, and a lunch break will be had at a hotel in Masindi.
Head off to Kichumbanyobo gate to access Murchison Falls NP via the Southern sector. Several primates, especially olive baboons will be spotted playing along the road at Budongo Forest. Drive and visit the top of the falls, and observe Murchison Falls as it squeezes itself into a narrow rock of 7-8m before cascading 43m down.

Day 3: Murchison Falls game drive, launch cruise & relaxation – 20 Days East Africa Safari
The morning game drive takes you on an enriching game viewing experience along the Northern section. 2-3 hours’ drive guided game drive comes with excellent animal spotting including the Rothschild giraffes, leopards, lions, elephants, waterbucks, buffaloes, oribis, Jackson’s hartebeest, warthogs, birds, and more.
Lunch break will be guaranteed and in the afternoon, you will set off from the Paraa Jetty to the base of the falls on a boat cruise. This 2-3 hours launch trip lets you view hippos, crocodiles, and photography at the bottom of the falls.

Day 4: Kibale tour from Murchison Falls National Park
After breakfast, drive from Murchison Falls National Park to Kibale – 7 to 8 hours drive. En-route lunch will be enjoyed at Fort Portal city, dinner, and overnight in the lodge in or around Kibale National Park.

Day 5: Trek chimpanzees & Bigodi wetland/Swamp walk – 20 Days East Africa Safari
Go chimpanzee trekking in Kibale National Park after breakfast and a briefing will be done at Kanyanchu tourism center. You will have 2-4 hours of a guided chimp trek and one hour for a face-to-face encounter with chimpanzees and photography. Other primates will be spotted including baboons, blue monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, black & white colobus monkeys, bush babies, and pottos.
A swamp walk in the afternoon will be done along the trail in Bigodi wetland. This is an endowed wetland area with primates and birds like the Great blue turacos. A leisurely dinner and a comfortable night stay at the lodge.

Day 6: Kibale to Queen Elizabeth National Park –watch tree climbing lions
A relaxed cup of tea/coffee and after, transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park via Kasese town Western Uganda. Enjoy the spectacular view of the Crater Lakes, the Rwenzori Mountain ranges and on arrival, check in at the lodge. Enjoy a leisurely lunch and chill in your accommodation.

Day 7: Game drive/wildlife viewing & boat cruise

Day 8: Ishasha game viewing & Bwindi
Leave the Kasenyi sector for Ishasha where you will enjoy a short game drive. Ishasha is known for not only tree climbing lions, but also topis and a variety of birds. Enjoy a picnic lunch and later drive to Bwindi.

Day 9: Trek mountain gorillas, visit the Batwa community
Bwindi supports 459 mountain gorillas with 20 habituated gorilla families. These are trekked in the 4 regions; Nkuringo, Ruhija, Buhoma and Rushaga. You will spend 2-6 hours in Bwindi looking for mountain gorillas but it includes one hour of photography. Settle for lunch in the afternoon and in the evening, visit the Batwa pygmies for a cultural encounter.

Day 10: Bwindi-Volcanoes National Park (Rwanda)
Cross from Bwindi to Volcanoes National Park via Katuna or Chanika border. This park lies in Northwestern Rwanda, 2-3 hours drive from Kigali. You will spend a night in a classic lodge as you wait for gorilla trekking adventure the following day.

Day 11: Golden monkey encounter/2nd gorilla trekking & Iby’Iwacu village
Track mountain gorillas for the second time and today, you will do it in Volcanoes National Park or embark on golden monkey tracking tour. After an encounter with gorillas or golden monkeys, retreat and lunch will be served at the lodge.
In the evening, enthusiastic cultural travelers will have the most of a cultural tour in the Iby’Iwacu village.

Get up early for breakfast, after, transfer to Kinigi offices for a briefing. Start your trek to the Dian Fossey tomb site with an experienced park guide. The journey to Dian Fossey tomb site takes 2-4 hours and you will have a deep insight into gorilla conservation and more about Dian Fossey. Retreat from exploring Dian Fossey, have lunch, and check out. Transfer to a hotel in Kigali for evening relaxation & overnight stay.

Day 13: Kigali city tour & depart for Tanzania
Kigali is one of the most beautiful and cleanest cities with many iconic historical centers, markets, craft centers, and more. You will be visiting the Kigali memorial center in Gisozi and craft centers then continue to Kigali International Airport (KGL) for departure to Arusha.

Day 14: Arusha- Lake Manyara National Park (Tanzania)
Lake Manyara National Park boasts of its huge profusion of wildlife. You will drive from Arusha to Lake Manyara NP, about 126km. This park is endowed with diverse animal species such as elephants, baboons, tree climbing lions, flamingos, and others. You will have lunch and later proceed for an afternoon game viewing to see a variety of wildlife such as impalas, giraffes, zebras, leopards, tree climbing lions, elephants, and more.

Day 19: Masai Mara NP –Full day wildlife tour
You will have breakfast in the morning and after, set off for a long day game drive and observing the wildebeest migration. Explore Maasai Mara National Reserve’s diverse wildlife from wildebeest, rhinos, elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, cheetahs, zebras, and many antelopes plus birds. You will leave the lodge/camp with some packed food to enjoy a picnic lunch and late in the evening if time permits, you will visit the Maasai people.
