Why Visit Kenya?

Kenya’s Masai Mara National Reserve/Park is the most popular park renowned for the large herds of wildebeest, buffalo, zebra, lion, elephant , giraffe and antelopes. It is in the Masai Mara reserve were we sight the great migration of millions of wildebeest, antelopes, eland, grant’s gazelle, impalas and zebra from the Serengeti national park to Masai Mara in search for food and water bodies which happens between July to October. It’s also in Kenya reserves where you can sight the big 5 (lions, elephant, buffalos, leopard and rhinos) .

Many of the travelers love to visit Africa in order to see the big 5 which were the difficult animals to hunt back then in the 1800s . Kenya is among the 11 countries in the world where you spot the big 5 while on a game drive and they are in many parks of Kenya that are Lake Nakuru national park, Tsavo national park, Amboseli national park, Masai Mara national reserve and so on.

Kenya is a home for the second highest mountain in Africa known as Mount Kenya recognized as a UNESCO world heritage site  situated in the central highlands and lies 16 km south of the equator. A lot of people across the world come to hike this mountain. When you reach the top of Mount Kenya you are able to see Africa’s highest mountain ‘’ Mount Kilimanjaro’’ during the clear days. It takes 4 to 6 days to hike depending on the routes used and this hiking safari can be offered in Kenya.

For those who want to see Rhinos and chimpanzees in Kenya, OI Pejeta is the place. Ol Pajeta sanctuary is where the largest black rhino are found in East Africa and a home to the remaining 2 northern rhinos in the world. Kenya has fresh water bodies like Lake Naivasha, lake Nakuru where a variety of activities can be done such as boat cruising which enables you to sight buffalo, crocodiles and hippo.

In the middle of the lake there’s a wildlife sanctuary where animals like zebras, giraffes are spotted. Kenya safaris can be combined with Uganda or Rwanda for those interested in gorilla trekking which is a major activity which travelers come to do in East Africa.

Is Kenya or Uganda better for a safari

A safari in Kenya is a better destination than Uganda when it comes to plains wildlife, great migration herds and spotting the big 5 . Kenya’s reserves are far more wide than the ones of Uganda which gives you higher chances of spotting the wildlife species since  the game drives last longer. Kenya’s infrastructures are well developed. However Uganda has got unique attractions that can not be found in Kenya like mountain gorillas, climbing lions and Golden monkeys. A combination of Uganda safari and Kenya provides a satisfying moment.
